Craigslist Adds Multi-Neighborhood Search (But You Really Only Need One)

posted by Andrew Dudley on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at 7:28 pm

Much to our dismay, not every website recognizes the Lower Haight as a legitimate neighborhood (we’re looking at you, OpenTable). But Craigslist, our good neighbor in the Inner Sunset, has always had our backs. So today, we were more than a little happy to notice that Craigslist has made its neighborhood search functionality easier — you can now search multiple areas simultaneously.

Along with the existing search criteria like price range, cat/dog friendly, and “has image,” you can now click a [+] sign to reveal a list of neighborhoods to help you focus your search. The feature appears to be active across most areas of the site, including real estate, jobs, and personals.

Of course, you already know that the Lower Haight reigns supreme in any given category — but now you can easily prove it with a single search. Good job, Craigslist. We won’t even ask what took so long.
